Ray J, in a candid interview with Shannon Sharpe, delved into the effects of his infamous sex tape with Kim Kardashian. Speculating on the alternate reality had the tape not been released, he remarked, "How different would we all be? How different would this whole thing be? How different would the industry be?

“Everything would be different, meaning like you would never ask me that question, meaning, if we sat here right now and we got to this point, I don’t know. Probably more people would be going to college, get an education to be successful. There might not be any OnlyFans and other things like that.”

Kardashian and Ray J were in a relationship from 2003 to 2006, having first met while he was working as a stylist for her sister, Brandy. The couple recorded their intimate encounter in 2003, resulting in the infamous sex tape known as "Kim Kardashian, Superstar," which was eventually leaked in 2007. The tape garnered significant attention at the time, propelling Kardashian into the spotlight with widespread media coverage.

The discussion extended beyond personal reflection to broader societal implications. Ray J questioned whether the tape's legacy aligned with progress or detriment, asking, "Are we a part of the cure or [are] we a part of the disease? I don't f**ing know. I'm just trying to make it right."

Despite the tape's role in catapulting Kardashian to stardom, Ray J had feelings of regret and embarrassment, particularly in light of his role as a parent. “I have kids now. Everything I did now when we have kids is just totally different. The whole thing is wacky. With my kids it’s not ok,” Ray J said.
