Paul Rodriguez will not face legal repercussions stemming from his recent arrest for alleged drug possession, as the Burbank City Attorney has rejected the case citing insufficient evidence.

Rodriguez was taken into custody in late March after police claimed to have discovered narcotics during a traffic stop. According to the comedian and actor, he was asleep in the passenger seat of a vehicle when law enforcement officers pulled it over for a traffic violation. He alleges he was awakened by an officer who "slapped him to wake him," and despite asserting the drugs were not his, he was still arrested.

Rodriguez has maintained his innocence since the incident, stating that the substances belonged to his friend who was driving at the time. He claims she admitted ownership of the drugs, yet he was nonetheless subjected to a rough arrest.

In response to these claims, the Burbank Police Department stated that Rodriguez did not raise any allegations of misconduct during a conversation with the watch commander prior to his release from custody.

His attorney, Bobby Samini, welcomed the decision from the City Attorney, telling TMZ, "My client commends the City Attorney for their determination in this matter. It is without doubt that Mr. Rodriguez was innocent and never possessed any controlled substance."

Samini emphasized Rodriguez's continued assertion of innocence, adding, "Mr. Rodriguez maintained his innocence and rejected the assertion by Burbank PD that he committed any crime. He is grateful for the support he received from his fans, family and friends throughout this difficult time."

The rejection of the case closes a challenging chapter for Rodriguez, who had faced public scrutiny following the arrest. With the case now dismissed, he is not expected to face further legal action in relation to the incident.
