Former child star Haley Joel Osment found himself at the center of controversy following an April 8 arrest at Mammoth Mountain ski resort in California. Body camera footage obtained by media outlets reveals the 37-year-old actor hurling antisemitic slurs at officers during the incident.

Law enforcement responded to the resort shortly before 2 p.m. following reports of an allegedly intoxicated individual. The footage shows Osment struggling to maintain his balance while officers attempted to place him under arrest.

"I've been kidnapped by a f--king Nazi," Osment can be heard shouting in the video. At another point during transport to jail, he directed a Jewish slur at an officer, stating, "I was decent to you, and you are a f--king k--e."

Police reportedly discovered what they believed to be cocaine residue on money found in Osment's ski helmet. "I think there's cocaine in that," one officer noted in the footage. The Mono County District Attorney subsequently charged Osment with two misdemeanors: possession of cocaine and disorderly conduct under the influence of alcohol in public.

Throughout the arrest, Osment appeared unable to keep his ski pants secured as they repeatedly slid down his waistline. Officers instructed him multiple times to "use your legs and stand up." The actor initially refused to identify himself, repeatedly stating, "I'm an American."

Following the release of the bodycam footage, Osment issued a statement expressing remorse: "I'm absolutely horrified by my behavior. Had I known I used this disgraceful language in the throes of a blackout, I would have spoken up sooner."

The Oscar-nominated actor referenced personal hardships, explaining, "The past few months of loss and displacement have broken me down to a very low emotional place," alluding to losing his home during January's Eaton Fire. "But that's no excuse for using this disgusting word."

"From the bottom of my heart, I apologize to absolutely everyone that this hurts," Osment continued. "What came out of my mouth was nonsensical garbage – I've let the Jewish community down and it devastates me. I don't ask for anyone's forgiveness, but I promise to atone for my terrible mistake."

This incident isn't Osment's first legal trouble. In 2006, at age 18, he was arrested after overturning his car and hitting a mailbox while intoxicated in Los Angeles. That incident resulted in a fractured rib and shoulder injury, leading to three years probation, 60 hours of rehabilitation, and six months of Alcoholics Anonymous attendance.

Osment, who rose to fame as a child actor in "The Sixth Sense," was released shortly after his recent arrest.
