On Tuesday, June 4, Rihanna took to Instagram to share the news that her beauty empire will be extending into haircare. The music popstar turned business mogul is expanding to the beauty industry that made her a billionaire. She announced that Fenty hair has a flexible line of products for all hair types and it would be dropping on June 13.
“A new family is moving in! @ fentyhair is pullin’ up and it’s time to finally have the hair experience you’ve been waiting for,” she wrote on her Instagram page. “You know how much switching my hair up matters to me. I’ve had almost every texture, colour, length from weaves to braid to natural – so I’m launching a flexible line of products, for not only every hair want but every product is designed to strengthen and repair all types of hair which is what we truly need! It’s time to play and get stronger by the style,” she continued.
In the promotional launch, Rihanna is seen walking through the streets of a miniature “mane street” downtown featuring a Fenty hair store as images of all different kinds of hairstyles flush on screen and the mogul smiles brightly for all her satisfied clients. Fans are encouraged to sign up to get access and shop on June 10 before the official drop. This comes after Rihanna dropped Fenty beauty which focused on a wide range of traditionally hard to match skin tones, and developing formulas that work for all skin types in an attempt to make women everywhere feel included.
While most fans were excited about the new hairline, others were disappointed because Rihanna has not been dropping music as consistently as before, with no mention of new music. “Everything but the music is coming soon!” an Instagram user commented under Rihanna’s post.
