Travis Kelce recently detailed his surprise appearance on Taylor Swift's Eras Tour stage during the season two finale of the "New Heights" podcast, co-hosted with his brother Jason Kelce. In the episode, Travis explained that the idea was originally his, though Swift perfected it for the show. The cameo occurred during Swift’s June 23 concert at Wembley Stadium in London.
Kelce recounted how the plan originated as a joke. “I initially mentioned it to Tay,” he said. “I was like, ‘How funny would it be if I just rolled out on one of the bikes during the 1989 act?'” Swift, amused by the suggestion, inquired if he was serious. Travis responded enthusiastically, “I would love to do that! I’ve seen the show enough might as well put me to work here.” Ultimately, Swift found a safer way to incorporate him into the performance, avoiding the potential hazards of the bikes.
Dressed in a tuxedo and top hat, Travis emerged on stage during the transition to Swift’s "Tortured Poets Department" set. His role involved carrying Swift to a couch while the production shifted into the song “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” Reflecting on the moment, Travis revealed his primary concern: “Do not drop the baby. The golden rule was: 'Do not drop Taylor.'”
The NFL star shared that the experience was a departure from his usual comfort zone. “I don’t love going on stages,” he laughed. Despite his nerves, he embraced the playful nature of the performance. “It was such a fun, playful part of the show. It was the perfect time for me to go up there and just be a ham and have some fun, not only with her but the crowd.”
Travis also praised Swift's professionalism and stage presence. “You can do no wrong when Taylor’s on stage,” he remarked, adding that it was an honor to perform alongside her. He expressed his enjoyment, stating, “It was an absolute blast.”
