The 32 year old now reality star, Gypsy Rose Blanchard announced that she is expecting her first child with Ken Urker, her ex fiance. The two met when Blanchard was still serving her sentence after conspiring with her ex-boyfriend Nicholas Godejon to kill her mother. They got engaged in 2018 when Gypsy was still in prison but rekindled their relationship after Gypsy separated from her now ex- husband Ryan Anderson. This comes after Blanchard claimed the she was not ready to start a family with Anderson. In her lifetime Docu-series Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up/ Lifetime, she stated that it was “the wrong time to start a family.”
“Ken and I are expecting our very first child come January of 2025,” she said in a 9 minute YouTube video. “We're both excited, this was not planned at all, it was completely unexpected but we're both very excited to take on this now journey of parenthood.” She went ahead to call her pregnancy a “blessing.” She also said that she has been feeling some of the pregnancy symptoms like food cravings and mood swings.
“That little tiny life is a baby, a little tiny human that's yours, that you have to make sure you protect, you love, you take care of,” she said, starting to tear up. “All the things I wished I could have had when I was little, all the things that I wanted in a mother, I want to give to this baby.” She went ahead to say that she wants to be a good mother for her child and to be everything her mother was not.
The news comes after rumors of her pregnancy have been circulating for a while before she confirmed that she was 11 weeks pregnant. Gypsy Rose Blanchard also reflected on her past with her mother, DeeDee Blanchard. “I know that there are people who feel like I am not ready to be a mother and I don't know if anyone is really ready to be a mother,” she said. This is because of comments from social media use who claim she is unfit to be a mother after conspiring to kill her mother.
