Blake Lively recently poked fun at her husband Ryan Reynolds during the Deadpool & Wolverine UK Fan Event in London. Reynolds, dressed in a teal suit, introduced Peggy, Britain's ugliest dog, as 'aka Mary Puppins and aka Dogpool.' The actor was promoting the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine film, the third installment in the franchise and the 34th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Lively, known for her playful jibes at Reynolds, shared a clip of the event on Instagram with the caption, "SOS. He's trying to get me pregnant again." She humorously added, "Put the dog that you find adorable in spite of societal K9 expectations away and take off that damn teal suit."
Reynolds, who stars as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, was accompanied by Hugh Jackman, who reprises his role as James 'Logan' Howlett/Wolverine. Peggy, the pug and Chinese Crested cross, will make her film debut in this movie. Reynolds described Peggy to the audience, saying, "Guys, this is Peggy. AKA Mary Puppins, AKA Dogpool."
" Get a good look. Her nipples are the size of children's fingers, she won 'Ugliest dog in Britain' but we're not telling her that." He also shared more about Peggy's quirky nature, mentioning her extensive training for the role and his fondness for her, despite her unique looks.
The film is set to premiere in the UK on July 25 and in the US on July 26. Alongside Reynolds and Jackman, the movie also stars Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen.
Lively, while promoting her own film "It Ends With Us," directed by Justin Baldoni and based on Colleen Hoover's novel, continued to display her comedic side. The film will be released in the US on August 9.
The couple, married since 2012, share four children: daughters James, Inez, Betty, and their fourth child born in February 2023. Reynolds, discussing the awkwardness of on-screen romance, told Harper's Bazaar, "What people don't realize is, there are 50 or 60 tired, hungry, overworked crew members standing directly behind them." Lively, recalling an incident while traveling with their daughter, described the discomfort of watching Reynolds in a sex montage from Deadpool, humorously adding, "It's a cruel and unusual form of torture."
