Alabama Barker, the 18-year-old daughter of Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler, has recently revealed her use of weight-loss medication in response to body-shaming and online bullying. "I'm on weight-loss medication because I'm tired of being fat and photographing like a damn ogre," Alabama confessed in a TikTok video reposted by a fan on July 16. "I have, like, this thing where I photograph so ugly and people are like, 'Oh my god, you're so fat and you're so ugly," she said.

Alabama did not disclose the specific medication she is using. However, her mother, Shanna Moakler, has also been open about her own weight-loss journey, revealing last month that she had taken Mounjaro, an FDA-approved drug for Type 2 diabetes, after the death of her parents in 2023. Moakler shared, "I was in a very, very dark place. I stopped dieting. I stopped exercising. I just ate like s**t. I was so devastated, and I missed my f**king mom and dad."

In April, she responded to allegations of plastic surgery, calling an Instagram user "delusional" for thinking she had undergone extensive cosmetic procedures. "I'm natural, besides my lips; accept the fact I'm naturally beautiful," she asserted.

Her openness about her struggles has drawn mixed reactions from social media users. While some expressed sympathy, others questioned the appropriateness of a teenager using weight-loss medication. One user commented, "I swear we are our own biggest haters because she's absolutely beautiful," while another added, "She's literally so cute and pretty, this makes me sad."

Alabama has also been candid about her health issues, which contribute to her weight fluctuations. She revealed last August, "I also have a thyroid problem and an autoimmune disease. So that's one of the main reasons why I have weight gain. Weight fluctuates and I don't want any girls that are young watching this that are gaining weight to ever think there's something wrong with it."

"People are going to hate regardless. You need to not feed into it, you won't benefit from it! Keep your peace protected. Don't entertain what people say about you, if you know yourself & your morals and your intentions, nothing else matters," she advised.
