Autumn Crittendon, famous for her repeated role on MTV's "16 and Pregnant", has died, at the young age of 27. The young TV star, who featured in the show's fifth season, was found unresponsive at her residence in Sandston, Virginia on Saturday, July 20, 2024.
The Henrico County Police Department reported that officers and paramedics responded to a call at approximately 3:15 PM. Despite life-saving efforts by Henrico Fire personnel, Crittendon, also known as Autumn Oxley, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Detectives are working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on this case to determine the exact cause and manner of death," the police statement read. The incident is currently classified as a death investigation.
Crittendon gained public attention when she appeared on "16 and Pregnant" in 2014, documenting her journey as an expectant teenage mother. The show followed her pregnancy with her oldest son, Drake. She later had two more children, Luke and Abigail.
While the cause of death remains unclear, sources close to Crittendon told TMZ that she had recently complained of heartburn and had been dealing with diabetes, kidney issues, and blood pressure problems.
The news of Crittendon's passing was initially shared by her sister, Misty, in a now-deleted Facebook post. "You were robbed of your life at such a tender age," Misty wrote, praising her sister's sobriety journey and promising to honor her memory.
This tragic event follows the death of another "16 and Pregnant" alum, Sean Grainger, who died in an ATV accident at age 20 in March 2024.
As the investigation continues, the Henrico County Police Division has urged anyone with information regarding Crittendon's death to come forward. The reality TV community and fans alike mourn the loss of the young mother, remembering her journey and the impact she made during her time on the show.
