Hailey Bieber is expecting her first child with husband Justin Bieber, marking one of Hollywood's most highly-anticipated pregnancies. The 27-year-old model, who has faced relentless criticism and divorce rumors since her 2018 marriage to Justin, kept her pregnancy a secret until the sixth month. She eventually announced it via an Instagram photoshoot with Justin and has since shared numerous baby bump photos.
In a recent interview with W Magazine, Hailey discussed her pregnancy and the emotional changes it has brought. She noted a growing distance from her family, saying, "I'm not super close with my family at this point in my life because I feel like I'm very independent. I'm my own individual now, and I've built my own family. But when I look back on my childhood and how I grew up, I have very fond, beautiful memories."
Reflecting on her pregnancy, Hailey admitted it was a relief to share the news publicly. "I didn't enjoy the stress of not being able to enjoy my pregnancy outwardly. I felt like I was hiding this big secret, and it didn't feel good." The model also expressed her initial emotional turmoil about expanding her family, stating, "In the beginning, it was super emotional for me. Like, 'I love this human so much. How can I possibly bring someone else into this?'"
Hailey's relationship with her family, particularly her parents and sister Alaia, has been affected by her independence and career. She moved to New York City at 17 to pursue modeling, which she says pushed her into adulthood quickly. "I started traveling the world, making my own money. I got my own apartment and had to learn how to live on my own ... That pushed me into adulthood kind of quickly."
The couple, who married in 2018, have faced public scrutiny and rumors of marital issues. Hailey acknowledged this saying, "People have made me feel so bad about my relationship since day one. It's like people don't want to believe that we're happy."
As Hailey and Justin prepare to welcome their child, they are focused on maintaining a strong, stable relationship. An insider revealed that they sought therapy and advice from their pastor to address their issues, which helped improve their communication and bond. Hailey concluded, "We can only do the best we can to raise them. As long as they feel loved and safe."
Hailey is due around August or September, and she is cherishing the last moments with just Justin before their baby arrives. She shared, "I'm trying to soak in these days of it being Justin and me, just the two of us."
