Australia rapper and songwriter, Iggy Azalea has declared herself the only parent to her child, Onyx, who she shares with ex-boyfriend rapper Playboi Carti. She claims that she considers herself a single mom to her four year old. “I'm very much a single mother.
I'm very much the only parent, no disrespect, but yes, I am not co-parenting really, and that's just the reality of it,” she said during a recent interview with Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Dinner's On Me podcast. She also went ahead to talk about how her child has been important in his motherhood journey, teaching her to be present and prioritize family matters over trivial ones.
The “Fancy” rapper also went ahead to say that her four year old has been her biggest inspiration and her number one fan. She also stated the importance of instilling confidence in children and reflected on her mother's role in her life.“I owe my success in large part to my mother because she spent so much time with me and she just really gassed me up and made me think I was a superwoman genius, dancer extraordinaire, painter extraordinaire, chef, whatever it was.”
Iggy Azalea discussed how motherhood impacted her lifestyle, including fully focusing on her son and reducing how often she travels. “I no longer want to be travelling around everywhere. I want to take my son to school. I want him to have memories with me and give him that time," she said.
The rapper also expressed that she would not be completing her album this year, citing a greater passion for design and creative direction. Career wise, she also joined Only Fans, and went ahead to release a physical sex tape. She has not yet revealed how much she earns from the platform.
Her ex-boyfriend, Playboi Carti has not yet responded to her remarks. Despite Azalea posting their child on social media often, Carti has maintained a low profile throughout the years. The musical artists first met in September 2018 when Carti was touring overseas, and started dating shortly after. They also took no time in pushing their relationship to the next stage, as they moved in together in December of the same year.
