MrBeast, the world's biggest YouTuber, has hired investigators following serious allegations against his former co-host, Ava Kris Tyson, who has been accused of grooming a teenager. The accusations, which surfaced online last month, claim that Tyson sent inappropriate messages to a minor when she was 20 years old.
Ava, who had been a part of MrBeast's channel since 2012, vehemently denied the grooming allegations but confirmed that she and MrBeast had "mutually agreed" on her departure from the channel. In a follow-up statement, MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, expressed his disgust at the allegations, calling Tyson's behavior "unacceptable."
MrBeast, who has over 300 million subscribers, said he became aware of the allegations only recently and was "disgusted and opposed to such unacceptable acts." He announced that he has hired an independent third party to conduct a thorough investigation to gather all the facts.
"I've seen enough online and taken immediate action to remove Ava from the company, my channel, and any association with MrBeast," Donaldson stated. "I do not condone or support any of the inappropriate actions." He added that he would wait for the investigators to complete their work before taking any further actions based on their findings.
Ava Tyson, who last year revealed she was a transgender woman and was undergoing gender-affirming therapy, has apologized for her "past behavior," admitting it was "not acceptable." However, she maintained that she had "never groomed anyone" and that the narrative being created was "disgusting and did not happen."
The minor involved in the allegations has come to Ava's defense, stating that descriptions of their relationship online were "massive lies and twisting the truth." He wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Ava never did anything wrong and just made a few edgy jokes. I was never exploited or taken advantage of."
