Gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik, the bespectacled pommel horse specialist for the U.S. men's team at the 2024 Olympics, just captured the attention of the world, but for more than eight years, his girlfriend Tess McCracken has been making fun of him and his Clark Kent specs.
McCracken posted on Instagram, "History = Made," following her longtime love's victory in Paris, where he secured the bronze medal for himself, his colleagues Brody Malone, Frederick Richard, Asher Hong, and Paul Juda. "Watching you finish strong and win the first team medal for the United States in sixteen years was the most bizarre and incredible day. " There are no words to express my pride in you."
Given that the retired gymnast has witnessed Nedoroscik's valiant actions from the start, the athletes' encounter before their freshman year at Penn State.
He wrote, "Four years ago, I had my entire collegiate experience ahead of me," on their July 4th anniversary in 2020, after they graduated. "Little did I know I had already found my favorite part about college."
Throughout their time at college, the duo managed to stay together.
McCracken, a Texas native and expert on the balancing beam, uneven bars, and floor who trained under Simone Biles' instructors Laurent Landi and Cecile Canqueteau-Landi, was nominated for the AAI Award, which is presented to the best senior in the country.
The 26-year-old unexpectedly quit gymnastics during her final year due to a coronavirus outbreak, but she still posted on Facebook on March 14, 2020, saying, "Gymnastics, I'll miss you, but this is just goodbye for now, not goodbye forever." She has since continued to suit up for her man.
Nedoroscik, the 2021 World Champion and two-time NCAA National Champion in the pommel horse event, celebrated his inclusion on the 2024 Olympic team by praising his "beautiful cheerleader," McCracken.
