Cardi B has filed for divorce from Offset once again after six years of marriage, seeking primary custody of their two children, Kulture and Wave. Cardi's representative confirmed the filing on August 1, with sources indicating that the split was a long time coming and not related to any recent cheating rumors.

Cardi and Offset's relationship has been tumultuous since they first secretly married in September 2017, followed by Offset's public proposal in October. The pair's first child, Kulture, was born in July 2018. The couple faced their first significant public breakup in December 2018 amid cheating allegations against Offset. Cardi addressed the split on Instagram, stating, "I guess we grew out of love, but we're not together anymore... it might take time to get a divorce and I'm gonna always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter's father."

Despite reconciling two months later, the couple's relationship remained rocky. Cardi filed for divorce in September 2020 but called it off a month later. In June 2021, Cardi announced her pregnancy with their second child, Wave, who was born in September 2022. Throughout their relationship, Offset faced multiple accusations of infidelity. In June 2023, Offset accused Cardi of cheating, to which she responded, "You can't accuse me of all the things you know that you are guilty of."

Cardi has often spoken about the challenges of balancing her career, children, and marriage. In a May interview with Rolling Stone, she said, "Sometimes I don't realize that I'm putting so many things before my relationship." She emphasized the deep friendship and support system she shares with Offset, making the decision to divorce particularly difficult. "It's not even about 'How do you leave a partner?' How do you stop talking to your best friend?" she said.

Sources close to the couple indicate that the decision to divorce was mutual and not unexpected. "They've grown apart. That's what drove her to this decision more than anything else," said one insider. "It's become unavoidable."

Despite their efforts to make the marriage work, including attending a Met Gala after-party together earlier this year, the distance between them continued to grow. As one source noted, "This was not an overnight decision, but something that has been brewing for a long time."

Offset has publicly denied recent cheating allegations, dismissing them as misunderstandings. Meanwhile, Cardi expressed her desire for a fresh start in 2024, stating on Instagram Live, "I want to start 2024 fresh, open. I'm curious for a new life, a new beginning. I'm excited."

Although the divorce process is underway, sources claim that Cardi has no ill-will towards Offset and wishes for a peaceful transition. "She's focused on moving on," said a source. "She's wishing him the best. She's not going into this next season of her life with any beef or any drama." The couple's representatives have not provided additional comments on the divorce proceedings.
