Jeremy Madix, the brother of “Vanderpump Rules” star Ariana Madix, is facing serious legal trouble after allegedly attempting to transport more than 100 pounds of cannabis through Orlando International Airport. The incident, which occurred on February 16, 2024, involved Jeremy and his friend, Jonah Ahad, who were stopped by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents while trying to board a flight to Frankfurt, Germany.
Court documents reveal that the agents searched three suitcases belonging to Jeremy and Jonah. Inside, they found a significant quantity of cannabis. Jeremy’s bags contained 64 vacuum-sealed packages weighing approximately 76 pounds, while Jonah’s luggage held 31 packages totaling 37 pounds. In total, the two men were in possession of over 100 pounds of cannabis.
Following the discovery, both men were charged with felony trafficking in cannabis, an offense under Florida law that carries a mandatory minimum sentence of three years in prison and a fine of $25,000. Despite the serious nature of the charges, neither Jeremy nor Jonah was immediately arrested at the time of the incident. Jeremy was only taken into custody in July 2024 at his home in Oceanside, California, and later extradited to Florida. His bond was set at $80,000, and he was ordered to surrender his passport as a condition of his release .
The case has drawn widespread media attention, not only because of the severity of the charges but also due to Jeremy’s connection to Ariana Madix, a well-known reality TV star. Despite their family ties, it appears that the siblings are not currently on speaking terms. Jeremy has admitted that he hasn’t spoken to Ariana in several months, citing personal issues unrelated to the scandal surrounding her recent split from Tom Sandoval. Their mother, however, has publicly defended Jeremy, describing him as a loving son who has built a stable life in California.
As the legal proceedings continue, it remains to be seen how this arrest will impact Jeremy Madix’s future. Both he and Jonah Ahad face significant legal challenges as they navigate the consequences of their alleged actions.
