Vanessa Morgan unveils her daughter's name! Kaia Autumn Skye, her first child with boyfriend James Karnik, was born on Saturday, July 27. The 32-year-old actress shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday, August 21. Though Morgan posted a TikTok on August 1 announcing Kaia's birth, she waited to reveal more details until now.
"These past 3 weeks with our little angel have been filled with baby snuggles. So grateful 🫶🏽," Morgan wrote in her Instagram caption.
The post featured photos of her and Karnik holding their newborn's hand. In one shot, Kaia is seen in her older brother River's arms, who gazes at her lovingly. Another picture shows Kaia and River's feet, with Kaia resting on River's lap.
Morgan shares her 3-year-old son, River, with ex-husband Michael Kopech.
In another photo, Karnik holds the baby as Morgan sits beside them. Kaia is dressed in a cute polka dot skirt and a lace-trimmed long-sleeve shirt.
One more image shows Morgan kissing Karnik's cheek as she wraps her arms around him and Kaia.
The Instagram carousel ends with a heartwarming family picture. Morgan and Karnik share a kiss, while Kaia sleeps on her dad's chest and River smiles at the camera.
Friends and followers congratulated the family on their new addition. Her Riverdale co-star Skeet Ulrich commented, "Such a beautiful family ❤️❤️." Wild Cards co-star Giacomo Gianniotti added, "Congrats to the new member of the happy family ❤️❤️," while Margaux co-star Madison Pettis wrote, "So precious 🥹."
Morgan had previously shared a TikTok video on August 1, announcing Kaia's arrival with a clip of Karnik carrying their baby out of the hospital. "The famous hot dad walk while leaving the hospital didn't disappoint," she captioned it, joking, "Ok fine, knock me up again 😂🤰🏽."
Karnik reposted the video on his Instagram Stories, writing, "Little did y'all know my girl was waiting for this moment since we first found out."
The couple had announced they were expecting in an Instagram post from Morgan on July 6. The next day, Morgan revealed they were having a girl, writing, "My GIRL🌸... can't believe you're gonna be here any day now."
