Leah Remini and Angelo Pagán have announced their decision to divorce after 21 years of marriage. The news was shared via a joint Instagram post on August 29, 2024.

In their statement, Leah and Angelo expressed that their decision came after much thought and care. "After 28 years together and 21 years of marriage, we have decided to file for divorce," they wrote. The couple said that their romance had "evolved into something different," and they believed this step was necessary for their personal growth and happiness.

They acknowledged that while their romantic relationship was ending, their bond remained strong. "We are proud of how we have worked through this together," they stated, adding that they would continue to celebrate holidays, watch their favorite TV shows, and gather as a family.

Leah and Angelo's journey began in 1996 when they met at El Floridita, a Cuban club and restaurant in Los Angeles. They married in 2003 in a Las Vegas ceremony and welcomed their daughter, Sofia Bella, in 2004. Over the years, they have been open about their relationship, sharing both the joys and challenges of their marriage with the public.

In their statement, Leah and Angelo candidly discussed the reasons for their separation. "To put it simply, we both changed, as people do, and we got used to playing roles that didn't fit us anymore," they explained.

Despite the end of their marriage, Leah and Angelo view their time together as a success. "We think a marriage that lasted this long and created so many beautiful memories, especially raising our incredible daughter, is something to celebrate," they said.

They expressed optimism about the future, looking forward to creating new cherished moments, and hope their journey can serve as an example to others. "We hope our journey can inspire others to see that relationships—whether they change or end—aren't failures."
