Angelina Jolie's sons, Maddox and Pax, played key roles behind the scenes of her latest film Without Blood. The 49-year-old actress and filmmaker, who wrote and directed the movie, saw her eldest sons, Maddox (23) and Pax (20), working diligently in the assistant director department, responsible for coordinating communication between the director and other departments.

Without Blood, which focuses on the aftermath of war, stars Salma Hayek Pinault and Demián Bichir and had its world premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.

Hayek Pinault, 58, shared her admiration for Maddox and Pax's professionalism while on set. She observed that Jolie maintained a professional demeanor with her sons, who earned the respect of the crew. "They were serious about their work and didn't treat me as they would outside of the set," Hayek Pinault said, adding that the experience was enjoyable.

Initially playful with Maddox and Pax, Hayek Pinault soon realized she needed to treat them like professionals. "I had to stop teasing them and treat them with the respect they deserved as colleagues," she explained. Her own daughter, Valentina, 16, was also present during the filming, making the set feel comfortable despite the film's heavy themes.

Hayek Pinault reflected on how the dynamic between her and Jolie had shifted since their 2021 collaboration on Eternals. While she played a motherly role in Eternals, she described Jolie as taking on that role during Without Blood. "She managed the set like a family, balancing professionalism with emotional support," Hayek Pinault said.

Jolie also spoke about having her sons work with her on multiple projects, including her upcoming film Maria, directed by Pablo Larraín. Pax has also been recognized for his talent in photography and was involved in capturing stills on set.

As her children grow older, Jolie is excited to see them becoming more independent. "It's a new chapter for us. They're old enough to join me at work, and I'm thrilled to see them finding their paths," she told The Hollywood Reporter.
