Glen Powell is showering Lamorne Morris with well-deserved praise. Moments after Morris secured his first-ever Emmy Award, Powell took to Instagram to celebrate his friend's achievement, writing, "Incredibly proud of my buddy."
The duo, Powell (35) and Morris (41), co-starred in the 2014 comedy Sex Ed. To mark Morris' success, Powell posted a black-and-white snapshot of the two wearing matching pilot uniforms, playfully acknowledging his friend's new status. Powell added crying and clapping emojis to emphasize his excitement, tagging Morris and affectionately dubbing him an "Emmy Winner."
Hannah Simone, Morris' co-star from New Girl, also joined the celebration, expressing her pride on Instagram Stories: "Never doubted it for a second. So proud of my former roommate and eternal work partner." Max Greenfield, another New Girl alum, shared Morris' Emmy acceptance speech in his Stories, complete with a crown emoji to mark the occasion.
Morris won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his portrayal of Deputy Witt Farr in Fargo. During his acceptance speech, Morris humorously thanked his "beautiful mother," referring to her as his "biggest supporter since, you know, I dropped out of her... well, you know how babies are born." He also acknowledged his 4-year-old daughter Lily, teasing, "I told you I'd win, though you always doubted me."
He continued to thank his colleagues at FX, his castmates, and his management team, while humorously addressing Robert Downey Jr., a fellow nominee, saying, "I have a poster of you at home, please sign it!"
Last month, Morris shared the touching moment he found out about his Emmy nomination, revealing that his daughter Lily had a humorous take on his emotional reaction. In a video posted on Instagram and TikTok, Lily teasingly asked, "Daddy, are you crying again?" multiple times as Morris got emotional over the phone. Morris jokingly captioned the moment, "When I got the Emmy nomination call, my daughter decided it was the perfect time to poke fun at me."
