Sean “Diddy” Combs has been under fire for the last couple of months after his ex-girlfriend, Cassandra Ventura, famously known as Cassie filed a lawsuit against him. The “Me & U” singer filed a lawsuit in the US District Court in Manhattan on November 16, 2023 alleging years of abuse, trafficking and rape over a 10-year period starting in 2008 when she was 19 and he was 37. The lawsuit was quickly settled outside court, however, it was alleged that Cassie collaborated with the feds to expose Diddy.
Security video aired by CNN appears to show Sean “Diddy” Combs attacking singer Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel hallway in 2016, the latest in a months long series of public allegations and revelations of physical and sexual violence from the hip-hop mogul. In the video, it shows Combs, wearing only a white towel, punching and kicking the R&B singer who was his longtime girlfriend at the time. The footage also shows Combs shoving and dragging Cassie, and throwing a vase in her direction.
On Tuesday (Sept. 17), Inner City Press reported on X , that Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo had attempted to downplay Mr. Comb’s abusive behavior while speaking to Magistrate Judge Robyn F. Tarnofsky in court. Agnifilo alleges that Ms. Ventura attacked Diddy first by hitting him with a cellular device in his head after she went through his phone and found out he had another girlfriend. This incident led to the infamous hallway incident aired by CNN. “Two people were in a hotel room. An issue that Mr. Combs had more than one girlfriend, okay? Victim 1 was looking through his phone and saw that – then hit him in the head with a cellphone, and took his clothing. So he comes out in a towel,” Agnifilo said. He also claims that the pair were very much in love, however, they used to frequently cheat on each other.
Agnifilo implies Ms. Ventura had been cheating with Alex Fine, a man Diddy hired as Cassie’s trainer and went on to have a family together. “These two were in love. Victim 1 ended up marrying the trainer Mr. Combs got for her. They had been cheating on each other for years. But now she had two kids with the trainer. Years later, she realized she has a good thing with Mr. Combs.” He went ahead to say in as much as Diddy is not perfect, the toxic relationships were mutual.
