Pop star Justin Bieber is reportedly prioritizing his new role as a father following the recent arrest of his longtime friend and collaborator, Sean "Diddy" Combs. The 30-year-old singer and his wife Hailey Bieber, 27, welcomed their first child, son Jack Blues, in August 2024.
An insider close to Bieber told People magazine, "He's aware of Diddy's arrest and all the allegations. It's not anything that he wants to focus on, though." The said source added to it that Bieber was "in a happy bubble since baby Jack was born" and "just wants to focus on being a great dad and husband."
This news comes in the wake of Combs' arrest on September 16, 2024, at a New York City hotel. The 54-year-old music mogul was taken into custody by federal agents following an indictment by a grand jury. U.S. Attorney Damian Williams revealed that Combs faces charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Combs' lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, maintains his client's innocence, stating, "Sean 'Diddy' Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community."
The arrest has cast a shadow over Combs' long-standing relationship with Bieber, which dates back to the Canadian singer's early career. Resurfaced footage from 2009 shows a then 15-year-old Bieber with Combs, sparking renewed scrutiny of their past interactions.
However, Bieber seems determined to distance himself from the controversy and focus on his growing family. The "Peaches" singer announced the birth of Jack Blues on Instagram on August 23, 2024, sharing a touching photo of the newborn's foot.
A source close to the couple revealed to People that both Justin and Hailey are "overjoyed" about becoming parents. "The baby is such a miracle," the insider said, adding that "the pregnancy was something that they very much wished and prayed for."
The arrival of Jack Blues marks a new chapter for the Biebers, who tied the knot in 2018. Friends of the couple have noted Justin's enthusiasm for fatherhood, with one source commenting, "Justin's already a great dad."
