On September 25, 2024, actress and singer Mandy Moore and her husband Taylor Goldsmith joyfully announced the arrival of their third child, a daughter named Louise Everett Goldsmith. The couple shared the news on Instagram, with Moore posting a touching black and white photo of herself holding the newborn while gazing up at Goldsmith.
"Lou is here!" Moore captioned the image, adding that Louise arrived "happy, healthy, expeditiously and right in time for Virgo season." The 40-year-old This Is Us star expressed her gratitude for their family of five, referring to their children as their "very own big three" - a nod to her role on the hit NBC drama.
Louise joins big brothers August "Gus" Harrison, 3, and Oscar "Ozzie" Bennett, 21 months. Moore had previously hinted at the pregnancy in May, sharing a photo of her sons wearing "Big" and "Middle" shirts, playfully captioning it "Sometimes life imitates art."
The journey to motherhood hasn't always been smooth for Moore. In a January 2021 interview with Romper, she revealed that an endometriosis diagnosis had initially led her to believe having children might be impossible without surgery. However, she discovered she was expecting Gus just before a scheduled procedure.
Throughout her third pregnancy, Moore was candid about the challenges she faced. In July, she shared on Instagram Stories that this pregnancy had been the "hardest by far," citing the demands of chasing after two toddlers while expecting.
Moore and Goldsmith, who tied the knot in 2018, have been open about their parenting experiences. The actress has praised her husband's natural aptitude for fatherhood, telling E! News at around March 2023, "He's been gearing up for this. Like in the morning, it's funny, I'll reach for my phone and he'll reach right for whatever baby book he's reading."
The couple's love story has been intertwined with their musical careers. Goldsmith, frontman of the band Dawes, has collaborated with Moore on music for This Is Us. Their shared passion for music and parenting has been evident in Moore's social media posts, where she often shares glimpses of their family life and musical moments.
