Todd Chrisley's employment behind bars has been terminated. According to his attorney Jay Surgent, the Chrisley Knows Best star, who is incarcerated at a federal prison in Florida for tax evasion and bank fraud with his wife Julie Chrisley, was relieved of his administrative responsibilities at the prison chapel, TMZ reported.
According to the lawyer, Todd was assisting a chaplain at FPC Pensacola in planning religious services for different faiths until he was relieved of his duties by prison authorities.
"For privacy reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any incarcerated individual, including their work detail assignments," a representative of the Federal Bureau of Prisons told TMZ.
In 2022, Todd, 55, and Julie, 51, were convicted on 12 counts, including conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to commit bank fraud, and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. According to inmate records seen by E! News, Todd was given a 12-year prison sentence, and his current release date is June 26, 2032.
Despite being overturned in June, Julie's seven-year sentence—which she is currently serving in Kentucky—was later upheld by a judge. After a hearing on September 25, her daughter Savannah Chrisley referred to the ruling as "100 percent injustice."
She said to reporters at the time, "We've seen the injustices happen time and time again, and the prosecutors here are completely ridiculous and obviously uneducated." I will keep fighting for my parents and speaking out as loudly as I can because what has happened is unfair.
