Lifestyle mogul Martha Stewart sparked controversy by questioning Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds' off-screen personality during her appearance on Bilt Rewards' Rent Free game show in November 2024.

Martha, 83, known for her candid opinions, delivered a pointed assessment of her Bedford, New York neighbor. "He's not so funny in real life," Stewart stated, distinguishing between Reynolds' on-screen persona and his actual personality. "He's very serious. He can act funny, but he isn't funny," she elaborated, while acknowledging his acting capabilities.

Ryan, 48, responded to Stewart's comments through his characteristic wit on X (formerly Twitter): "I'd disagree with her. But I tried that once. The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so." The exchange highlighted the complex dynamics between the two celebrities who share a neighborhood in Bedford's affluent community.

This incident had occurred during Martha's promotional tour for  her most recent  cookbook, "Martha: The Cookbook: 100 Favorite Recipes, with Lessons and Stories from My Kitchen," which was released October 22, 2024. When she was asked about the celebrities she would enjoy spending time with, Martha notably excluded Reynolds, instead naming George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Snoop Dogg, and Taylor Swift as her preferred company.

This public exchange coincides with significant career moments for both personalities. Stewart recently made headlines for her candid criticism of Netflix's documentary "Martha," particularly regarding its portrayal of her prison experience and later life. Reynolds, meanwhile, has been garnering attention for his upcoming "Deadpool & Wolverine" project, maintaining his public image as Hollywood's quick-witted star.
