A commenter recently asked the mother of four to elaborate on the diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes in her and her husband John Legend's 6-year-old son, Miles.

The commenter on Teigen's post from November 23 asked, "As a mom with such a large following, would you consider sharing more about Type 1?" "At least somewhat to increase consciousness? Regards from a fellow T1 mother.

In response, the cookbook author said, “I certainly intend to! We ourselves are still learning here!

Teigen and Legend previously revealed Miles' diagnosis in July. They are also parents to a son, Wren, who is 17 months old, and daughters, Luna, 8, and Esti, 22 months.

The former swimsuit model posted on Instagram on July 31: "A couple weeks ago, our Miles was sick in the hospital with a terrible case of shigella, an intestinal infection caused by bacteria in food or water." "As they attended the same camp, many of his friends were also fed up with it, and well, it happens!"

She went on to say that after Miles was admitted to the hospital, the doctors found that he was experiencing other problems besides the infection.

He continued, "The doctors knew something else was off about his blood tests." "After more testing, we learned he is in the 'honeymoon period' of a lifetime of [Type 1 diabetes]."

Miles now wears a Type 1 diabetes monitor on his arm and receives insulin injections.

Before Teigen made the news public, fans noticed the monitor in a picture and contacted the mother.

Teigen declared, "I was and still am so blown away by the kindness of this community." "Knowing that he is not alone and that so many others are experiencing the same thing helps Miles a lot."
