Ben Affleck, widely known for his cinematic accomplishments, is taking a step back from his hectic schedule to prioritize time with his three children during Thanksgiving. Currently engrossed in filming the crime thriller RIP alongside longtime friend and collaborator Matt Damon, Affleck's decision underscores the importance he places on family, especially in the wake of significant personal changes.

A source close to the actor shared, "He's very happy with life. He enjoys working but is excited to spend Thanksgiving with his kids." Affleck's dedication to both his craft and his family is evident, with those on set describing him as "in a great mood and super fun to work with." The insider added, "Ben and Matt are a great team. You can see how much they enjoy working together."

Affleck shares three children—Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12—with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Garner recently revealed a touching family moment on Instagram involving their beloved dog Birdie, who passed away shortly after Violet returned home from college. Garner expressed gratitude, writing, "The vet told us dogs often hold on until their person comes home. Birdie did just that, so we could thank her for being the world's best dog."

This Thanksgiving marks a poignant transition for Affleck as it is his first since his high-profile divorce from Jennifer Lopez. The couple, who rekindled their relationship after decades apart and married in 2022, separated earlier this year, with Lopez filing for divorce in August. The split ended a relationship that had been widely admired but reportedly faced challenges due to differing family dynamics.

Despite the divorce, Lopez has remained vocal about the value of family, telling PEOPLE, "The holidays are such a special time. We don't get to see each other all year, so catching up and creating new memories is something I truly cherish." Lopez, who shares 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony, noted how holiday traditions provide an opportunity for reflection and reconnection.

Affleck's focus on family comes at a time when his career remains vibrant. RIP, which he is producing alongside Damon, features an ensemble cast including Teyana Taylor and Sasha Calle. The film has filmed in various locations, including New Jersey and Los Angeles, showcasing Affleck's commitment to his art even amid personal changes.
