It Ends with Us author Colleen Hoover has publicly expressed support for actress Blake Lively following allegations of sexual harassment against the film's director and co-star, Justin Baldoni.

On Saturday, Dec. 21, the same day Lively's complaint surfaced, Hoover took to Instagram Stories to share her thoughts, linking to a New York Times report on the matter. "Blake, you have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive, and patient since the day we met," Hoover wrote, alongside a photo of the two embracing at a screening. "Thank you for being exactly the human that you are. Never change. Never wilt."

Lively's complaint, obtained by PEOPLE, accuses Baldoni of misconduct during the production of the It Ends with Us adaptation. Allegations include inappropriate behavior and comments, leading to a meeting with producers to address her concerns. The outcome of that meeting reportedly resulted in agreements to prevent further misconduct, including "no more improvising of kissing" and restrictions on physical contact or sexual remarks without consent.

The complaint also details stipulations to ensure no additional intimate scenes would be added beyond the approved script. Despite these agreements, Lively alleges Baldoni later launched a smear campaign against her, aiming to discredit her allegations.

Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, has denied the claims, calling them "false, outrageous, and intentionally salacious" in a statement to PEOPLE.

Lively's evidence includes private texts and emails allegedly showing Baldoni's crisis PR team planning to spread negative narratives about her, including claims of "weaponizing feminism" and efforts to manipulate public perception. The actress states she has suffered grief, trauma, and extreme anxiety due to Baldoni's actions, which she claims have also impacted her family.

The complaint serves as a precursor to a potential discrimination lawsuit in California.

Lively and Hoover share a close friendship, with Lively previously describing the author as a steady and kind presence. Hoover has also praised Lively's performance as Lily Bloom in the film, calling it "captivating, stunning, and emotional."

Hoover's unwavering support for Lively underscores the strength of their bond as the actress continues to pursue justice in this challenging chapter.
