In the midst of her husband Colin Jost's lighthearted argument with Michael Che, Scarlett Johansson found herself in the middle. On Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update segment on December 21, Colin read out an offensive joke about his wife that his cohost had written during the comedians' yearly Christmas Joke Swap.

"Costco has removed the roast beef sandwich from its menu," he stated. However, I'm not tripping. Ever since my wife gave birth, I've been eating roast beef every night.

Scarlett, who was standing backstage, was next shown on camera. "Oh my God!" was seen to be mouthed by the actress. She has a 10-year-old daughter named Rose from her previous marriage to Romain Dauriac and a 3-year-old son named Cosmo with Colin.

After reading the joke from the teleprompter, Colin said, "No, no, I'm just playin', baby," and he laughed. "You know I don't go downtown."

Once more, Scarlett was seen gasping backstage.

The yearly episode was hailed by many viewers as Colin and Michael's funniest to date.

"It's a power move to have Scarlett there! One YouTube user commented, "Every year Che ups himself," while another said, "Involving Scarlett was some next-level sadistic shiz."

Jost, 42, and Scarlett, 40, have been wed for over four years. After she hosted Saturday Night Live for the fifth time in 2017, they started dating. They initially met in 2006, when she hosted the show for the first time.

In 2023, Scarlett told E! News that Colin did run jokes by her on Saturday Night Live. She said, "I'll often be like, 'Well, that's too much,' and that's the one that gets the biggest laugh," when asked whether she "couldn't" picture punching up his work. "His brain is so primed for that."

Scarlett has commended Colin's naughtiness. In November, she stated on Live with Kelly and Mark, "He has his naughty side." "He keeps it for that reason." interesting."
