After over eight years of legal battles, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have finally reached a divorce settlement, marking the end of one of Hollywood's most high-profile and prolonged splits. The couple, once adored by fans around the world, had been engaged in a lengthy dispute over custody of their six children and the division of their significant assets.

According to Jolie's lawyer, James Simon, the agreement brings "relief" to Jolie, who has long focused on "peace and healing" for her family since filing for divorce in 2016. However, the divorce process has been far from simple, stretching across multiple years and legal entanglements.

Jolie's initial filing for divorce came after a private jet flight from Europe, during which she accused Pitt of abusive behavior towards her and their children. Though Pitt denied the allegations, the incident sparked the beginning of their separation. In 2019, a judge declared them legally single, but it took much longer to resolve the custody of their children and divide their shared assets. The couple had hired a private judge to expedite proceedings, but after concerns about conflicts of interest arose, this judge was removed, causing further delays.

The couple's financial battles were also complex, particularly involving their French vineyard, Château Miraval, which they had jointly purchased. Jolie's decision to sell her 50% stake in the winery in 2021 led to a legal dispute, with Pitt accusing her of breaching their agreement and damaging the business's reputation. This case, along with other related lawsuits, added another layer to their contentious divorce, with both sides continuing to fight for their respective stakes in the property.

Despite these conflicts, the settlement marks a turning point for the couple, who were once known as "Brangelina." Their relationship began in 2005 during the filming of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and they married in 2014, after several years of dating. Their family expanded through both biological children and international adoptions, making them one of Hollywood's most celebrated couples. However, their marriage faced difficulties almost immediately following their wedding, culminating in Jolie's 2016 filing.

As the details of the final divorce settlement remain under wraps, it is clear that both Jolie and Pitt have faced personal and professional challenges throughout the process.

Now, with this chapter finally closed, they can focus on their separate futures and the well-being of their children, marking an end to one of the most publicized divorces in entertainment history.
