Andrew Garfield has addressed the ongoing rumors about his potential return as Peter Parker in Marvel Studios' Spider-Man 4. Fans have speculated about his involvement ever since Tom Holland was confirmed to reprise his role in the upcoming sequel. However, Garfield has firmly denied these claims, stating during an interview with GQ, "I'm gonna disappoint you. Yeah, no. But I know no one's gonna trust anything I say from now on."

Garfield, who first played the iconic web-slinger in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and its sequel (2014), gained renewed attention after his surprise appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). The multiverse storyline brought together three generations of Spider-Man actors: Garfield, Tobey Maguire, and Holland. While this unexpected reunion thrilled fans, it has also fueled hopes for Garfield's return to the franchise.

Reflecting on his earlier denials about appearing in No Way Home, Garfield humorously acknowledged his reputation for secrecy. "I know no one's going to trust anything I say from now on," he admitted, referencing how he successfully kept his role in the 2021 film under wraps.

While Garfield has denied involvement in Spider-Man 4, he hasn't ruled out the possibility of returning to a major franchise in the future. "If it felt in line with my soul and was gonna be fun," he said. Adding humor to the conversation, he joked, "Maybe I'm gonna have like five kids at some point, and I'm gonna need to start saving up for the school tuition or something."

In addition to addressing Spider-Man rumors, Garfield also dismissed speculation about playing Jesus in a Martin Scorsese film. "There was a rumor. It's not true to my knowledge," he clarified.

Despite the buzz around his potential Marvel return, Garfield has been focused on other projects. His latest film, We Live in Time, co-starring Florence Pugh, premiered at the Toronto Film Festival to critical acclaim. He also has After the Hunt in post-production, further showcasing his diverse filmography.

For now, fans will have to wait and see if Garfield ever swings back into the Marvel universe. As he noted, "Anything is possible in the multiverse."
