Selena Gomez has reportedly chosen to exclude ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber from her wedding guest list as she prepares to tie the knot with fiancé Benny Blanco. According to insiders, the 32-year-old pop star and actress is focused on prioritizing her happiness and maintaining boundaries with individuals who have hurt her in the past.
Gomez and Bieber famously had an on-again, off-again relationship spanning from 2010 to 2018. Their tumultuous breakup led Bieber to marry model Hailey Baldwin later that year. Reflecting on the emotional toll of their relationship, Gomez poured her feelings into her 2019 chart-topping single, Lose You to Love Me, where she sang, "You promised me the world and I fell for it... You got off on the hurtin'/When it wasn't yours, yeah."
Despite their history, Bieber, now 30, reportedly hoped to rekindle a friendship with Gomez. "Justin would like to be friends – he genuinely has no hard feelings, but Selena isn't interested," a source revealed. "The truth is he did not treat her well, and out of respect for herself, she doesn't allow people that have hurt her to be in her world."
While Bieber shares a longstanding professional and personal connection with Blanco—collaborating on hits like Love Yourself and Cold Water—the Canadian singer will not be attending the upcoming nuptials. Gomez is reportedly confident in her relationship with Blanco and has taken steps to protect her business, Rare Beauty, by signing a prenuptial agreement. "Benny wouldn't dream of challenging Selena on this issue at all," a source told Life & Style.
