Sofía Vergara, 52, is setting her sights on love this year. In an interview with Access Hollywood at the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday, Jan. 5, the actress shared her New Year's aspirations. "Health, money, a boyfriend," she said with a smile, before jokingly adding, "or a lover, maybe."
The Modern Family star attended the event as a nominee for Best Performance by a Female Actor in an Anthology Series for her role in Netflix's Griselda. Although the award went to Jodie Foster for her work in True Detective: Night Country, the two shared a lighthearted moment. When Foster began her acceptance speech, Vergara humorously shouted, "No, no! Give me one," prompting laughter from the audience. Foster returned the gesture by mentioning Vergara in her speech, saying, "The greatest thing about being this age and in this time is having a community of all these people, especially you, Sofía."
Vergara's love life has been in the spotlight since her split from Joe Manganiello in July 2023, following seven years of marriage. The couple started dating in 2014, got engaged the same year, and finalized their divorce in April 2024. In a joint statement to Page Six, they announced their separation, asking for privacy as they transitioned into this new chapter.
In a January 2024 interview with Spanish newspaper El País, Vergara opened up about one of the key reasons behind the breakup. "My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids, and I didn't want to be an old mom," she explained. "I respect whoever does it, but that's not for me anymore. I feel it's not fair to the baby."
Since her divorce, Vergara has dipped her toes back into the dating scene. She was linked to orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman, with the pair spotted enjoying each other's company. In July 2024, Vergara shared a photo on Instagram of Saliman relaxing during an Italian getaway. The post, captioned simply with a heart emoji, sparked rumors about their relationship.
As 2025 begins, Vergara seems focused on embracing health, success, and the possibility of romance. Whether it's a boyfriend or a lover, the actress is ready for the next chapter in her life.
