Chrissy Teigen and her family have evacuated their Los Angeles home due to the devastating fires sweeping the area. On Wednesday, Jan. 8, the 39-year-old model and author shared the emotional experience of leaving the home she shares with husband John Legend and their children—Luna Simone, 8, Miles Theodore, 6, Esti Maxine, 23 months, and Wren Alexander, 18 months.

Posting a mirror selfie from her closet, Teigen wrote, "This is surreal. I'm very scared now. Packing." She later shared a lighthearted moment of Legend, 46, building Lego despite the chaotic situation, joking, "Told him not to start it right now."
The family safely relocated to a hotel, bringing along their four dogs, French bulldogs Petey and Pearl, Pebbles, and Penny, as well as their pet bearded dragon, Sebastian. Teigen shared videos from their hotel room, including one of her smiling from the bed while the dogs climbed up. "4 dogs, 4 kids, and a bearded dragon walk into a hotel," she captioned the video.
Sebastian's presence brought comfort, with Teigen assuring fans, "Don't worry, Sebastian made it. We would never forget him." She shared clips of the reptile resting on her chest under her cardigan, writing, "Gotta keep him warm."
Earlier in the day, Teigen expressed her distress about the fires, describing the situation as a "hellscape." "I haven't had the words. We are okay as of right now, but I feel weird saying that when so many others are not," she wrote on her Instagram Stories. She also thanked first responders and urged followers to share resources for community assistance. "Thank you for reaching out. Looking for any and all ways to help our community right now. God bless the firefighters and all first responders."
The fires have forced over 80,000 people to evacuate their homes in Los Angeles, with many losing everything. Celebrities including Paris Hilton, Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag, Leighton Meester, Adam Brody, and Anna Faris have revealed their homes were destroyed.
As the fires continue to engulf large parts of the region, Teigen's story reflects the emotional toll these disasters take, even for those fortunate enough to escape safely. Her focus now remains on her family's safety and helping her community recover from this tragedy.
