The Stafford family's Arizona weekend took a terrifying turn. Kelly Stafford, who is married to NFL quarterback Matthew Stafford and has twins Sawyer and Chandler, ages seven and four, as well as daughters Hunter, six, and Tyler, four, shared a picture from the hospital on January 11.
"Last night was long," Kelly captioned a picture of two of their children in a hospital bed on Instagram Story. "Everyone except Hunter is back in their beds and sleeping. She seems to have consumed a Celsius.
Kelly, who married Matthew in 2015, posted a photo of their children strolling with the NFL player in a follow-up post.
"Before that, though," she said, "they were all smiles getting to go with Daddy on his work trip."
In light of the ongoing wildfires in Southern California, the NFL's Jan. 13 Wild Card game was moved from Inglewood's SoFi Stadium to Glendale's State Farm Stadium, and Matthew's team, the Los Angeles Rams, traveled to Arizona this week to play the Minnesota Vikings.
Kelly recently disclosed that some members of their family, including herself, had been ill, but she did not provide additional information regarding their children's hospitalization.
In the January 7 episode of her Morning After podcast, she stated, "I can't think straight; I currently believe I have the flu." "I have two daughters who are sick with the flu."
She wasn't "able to move" during the Rams' game against the Seattle Seahawks on January 5, Kelly continued. "I passed out on a little bench in the suite," she said. "I was a real downer, and all of our friends were in town. There are severe body aches.
Kelly posted about having to evacuate due to the ongoing wildfires, which have killed at least 16 people, while she was battling the illness, according to NBC News.
Matthew hopes that their upcoming playoff game will offer a "great escape" for fans who have been struggling amid the destruction.
He stated, "We play for the people in this community, the people that support us," at a press conference on January 9. "And this week will be another example of that."
