Sofía Vergara, 52, and Formula One star Lewis Hamilton, 40, were seen in high spirits after a lengthy lunch in New York City on Tuesday, January 14. The two were photographed leaving the outing dressed in stylish casual looks. Vergara wore dark-wash oversized jeans, a black blouse, and a cream trench coat, while Hamilton sported light-wash baggy jeans, a brown flannel, a suede jacket, and a fur bucket hat.
Although the pair's lunch sparked curiosity, sources told TMZ and Us Weekly it wasn't romantic but rather a casual meal among friends. Representatives for both stars have not commented on the outing.
Vergara recently shared her hopes for the year at the 2025 Golden Globes, telling Access Hollywood: "Health, money, a boyfriend—or a lover, maybe," she joked. These remarks come after her split from orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman, whom she began dating in 2024. Vergara publicly hinted at their relationship in April 2024 via Instagram Stories and last posted about Saliman during a romantic Italian vacation in July.
Prior to Saliman, Vergara was married to actor Joe Manganiello. The couple, who began dating in 2014 and married the following year, announced their separation in July 2023 after seven years together. Their divorce was finalized in April 2024. At the time, the pair issued a joint statement to Page Six, saying, "We have made the difficult decision to divorce. We ask for respect for our privacy as we navigate this new phase of our lives."
As for Hamilton, the racing champion has a history of high-profile relationships. He previously dated Danielle Lloyd, Jodia Ma, and Nicole Scherzinger, with whom he had a seven-year relationship that ended in 2015. Since then, Hamilton has been romantically linked to various celebrities, including Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Barbara Palvin, Winnie Harlow, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Camila Kendra, Shakira, Rita Ora, and Sofia Richie.
Though both stars are navigating their personal lives, their recent lunch in the Big Apple appeared to be a lighthearted break from their busy schedules. Whether it was business or friendship, Vergara and Hamilton proved they can turn heads simply by enjoying each other's company.
