According to the proprietor of the tattoo parlor that oversaw the process, Ricardo Godoi, who gained an online following for sharing content about luxury automobiles on social media, passed away on January 20 at the age of 45 after undergoing general anesthesia to have a complete back tattoo.
The studio owner, who called Godoi a “great friend,” told the Daily Mail in an interview published on January 22 that “what occurred was that, at the beginning of the sedation and intubation, he went into cardiac arrest." That happened even before they began tattooing him. He was examined right away, and a cardiologist was summoned in to attempt—but fail—to resuscitate him.
A tribute message on Godoi's official Instagram profile stated that he died at 12 p.m. local time.
The caption of the post from January 20th, translated into Portuguese, said, "Today we say goodbye to Ricardo Godoi. He was an incredible person who left his mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him."
The letter continued by emphasizing how Godoi's closest friends and family will remember him, despite the fact that his social media bio said he was married at the time of his passing.
The note went on to say, "His happiness, kindness, and light will always be present in our memories and in every story he helped create." "I hope he finds peace." We send our sympathies to his friends and family.
In a supplementary statement to the Daily Mail, the tattoo parlor provided information regarding the pre-event safety measures.
According to the statement, "We hired a private hospital with all the staff, equipment, and anesthetic drugs necessary for the safety of the procedure." "We also employed a physician with anesthesia expertise and intubation experience, whose records were authorized by the hospital."
