Billy Ray Cyrus’ son, Trace Cyrus shares a heartfelt message to his father. Trace claims that since his earlier memories, all he can remember was being so obsessed with his father and thought he was the coolest father ever. He claims that he admired Cyrus so much and wanted to be just like him.
“The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life. Sadly the man that I wanted so desperately to be like I barely recognize now,” he wrote. “It seems like this world has beaten you down and it’s obvious to everyone but you. You may be upset with me for posting this but I really could care less at this point.”
He went ahead to claim that he and the girls have been so worried about him but he pushed them away. He also accused Cyrus of not being there for Noah Cyrus yet she has “desperately” been trying to be a part of his life. “That’s your baby girl. She deserves better. Somehow, just like me, she still idolizes you though.”
He expressed that that they are all hanging on to memories of a man they once knew and hoping for the day he returns. “ You’re not healthy dad and everyone is noticing it. Just like I showed up for you at mamaws funeral when you didn’t expect me to I’m still here right now,” he wrote.
He continued, “As I write this with tears in my eyes I hope you realize this message only comes from a place of love and fear that the world may lose you too soon. I love you dad.”
Trace Cyrus also went to share details on his sobriety journey, writing, “We haven’t talked in a while but I’m over a year and a half clean from alcohol. Guess what? I feel amazing. I don’t know what you’re struggling with exactly but I think I have a pretty good idea & I’d like to help you if you would open up and receive the help. You know how to reach me. Till that day, I will continue to pray for you. Billy Ray Cyrus.”
