Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have welcomed their second child together, a daughter named Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi. The baby arrived on January 22, 2025, at 12:57 pm at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, several weeks ahead of her expected spring arrival.

Despite being born prematurely at 4 pounds, 5 ounces, Buckingham Palace confirmed that both mother and baby are "healthy and doing well." The name choice carries special significance, with Elizabeth serving as a touching tribute to Beatrice's late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

"We welcomed Baby Athena into our lives last week. She is tiny and absolutely perfect," Edo shared on his personal Instagram. "We are all (including Wolfie and Sienna) already completely besotted with her. Our hearts are overflowing with love for you, baby Athena."

The new arrival makes Princess Beatrice and Edo parents to a beautifully blended family of five, joining three-year-old Sienna Elizabeth and eight-year-old Christopher Woolf (known as Wolfie), Edo's son from a previous relationship. Celebrity nutritionist Gabriela Peacock, a close friend of Beatrice, recently told Hello! magazine, "She's had Wolfie in her life since she and Edo met and has always been incredible with him. She is extremely nurturing and involved with both kids' lives."

While the baby doesn't receive a British royal title, she does inherit an Italian aristocratic title as "nobile donna" through her father's lineage. Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, Edo's father, previously explained to The Daily Mail, "Edoardo is the only male descendant taking the family into the next generation. He is a count — his wife will be a countess automatically, and any of their children will be counts or nobile donna."

The new addition becomes 11th in line to the British throne, following her sister Sienna at number 10 and their mother Princess Beatrice at number 9. The Palace confirmed that King Charles and Queen Camilla, along with other members of the Royal Family, are "delighted with the news."

Princess Beatrice and Edo's joy reflects what Count Alessandro observed about their relationship before their 2020 wedding: "They are very suited to each other and have known each other for a long time. I've never seen him so happy."
