Josh Connor and Christine Baumgartner are starting a new chapter in their relationship. According to a source who spoke to E! News, Christine, who was formerly married to Kevin Costner, and the investor are now engaged. On January 26, Josh, 49, surprised the handbag designer with a romantic beach dinner in Santa Barbara.
"Almost nobody else was on the beach when Josh got down on one knee because it was going to rain," the insider added, adding that their tight circle was not surprised by the proposal. "The couple has been together for more than a year; last month, they celebrated Christmas together in New York, where it all started."
Eleven months after a contentious legal struggle, Christine, 50, finally finalized her divorce from Kevin. In May 2023, Christine, who has children with the Yellowstone alum, Cayden, 17, Hayes, 15, and Grace, 14, sued to dissolve their 18-year marriage, claiming "irreconcilable differences."
After several months, their disagreement over child support made the breakup more acrimonious.
According to People, Christine requested $161,592 monthly in child support for their three children from Kevin during a hearing that early in September. Kevin countered that since her partner had already given her "$20,000 in cash," he should only be required to pay $60,000 a month.
Christine denied at the time that she was seeing Josh, with whom she had gone on a Hawaiian trip earlier that summer. He was also a common buddy of the ex-couple. In the end, Christine and Kevin were able to reach an agreement, and on September 19, they told E! News that they “have come to an amicable and mutually agreed-upon resolution of all matters to their divorce proceedings." Their divorce was finalized by February 2024.
