Montana Jordan is gearing up for his wedding but won't be taking any cues from his on-screen character, George Cooper.

Speaking exclusively to People at the Warner Bros Television Press Day on January 30, the 21-year-old actor shared that his role in Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage hasn't influenced his real-life approach to marriage.

"None, because he's always in trouble," Jordan said when asked if he learned anything from playing George. "He's always in trouble with the wife, and I don't like to be in trouble."

Jordan, who portrayed George Cooper in Young Sheldon from 2017 to 2024 before reprising the role in the spinoff alongside Emily Osment (Mandy), also spoke about his upcoming wedding plans.

"That's not my department. That's her department," he joked. "She's doing great at it, and yeah, she's been doing some planning, so it'll happen. I'm pretty easygoing, so whatever she wants. I just want her to be happy, and that's all that matters."

The actor, who welcomed daughter Emma Rae with fiancée Jenna Weeks in May 2024, reflected on how becoming a father in real life has shaped his portrayal of George, who is also a young dad to baby Constance in the show.

"It's crazy how life works," Jordan said. "If I had never had a kid, I wouldn't know what Georgie is going through. It helps me bring authenticity to the role, and it's really nice."

The spinoff series Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage explores the journey of George and Mandy as they navigate young parenthood and married life. Jordan's real-life experiences continue to add depth to his character, making his portrayal even more relatable to audiences.

With wedding bells on the horizon, Jordan remains focused on embracing the moment and letting his fiancée take the lead in planning their special day. "She's doing amazing, and I know it's going to be great," he said.
