Comedian Colin Jost is known for his sharp wit, but his most memorable adventure wasn't on Saturday Night Live—it was a frantic search through New York City's dumpsters after wife Scarlett Johansson thought she lost her engagement ring.

Hosting Pop Culture Jeopardy!, Jost recalled the chaotic moment, saying, "My wife actually lost her engagement ring... or so we thought."

Johansson, believing she had accidentally thrown the ring in the trash, sent Jost on a mission. Armed with nothing but determination (and possibly regret), the comedian dove headfirst into a 12-dumpster deep scavenger hunt.

"I looked through 12 dumpsters of trash," he said.

After hours of searching and sifting through garbage, Jost returned home empty-handed—only to have Johansson casually announce, "Oops! It was in my pocket."

This isn't the first time Jost has turned his personal life into comedy gold. Just last year, during the SNL holiday joke swap, he left Johansson speechless with a risqué roast beef joke: "I've been eating roast beef every night since my wife had the kid." A cut to Johansson's bewildered reaction backstage made the moment even funnier.

Later, Jost explained that while she was warned about a joke, her reaction was 100% real because she didn't know the exact punchline. "People thought I was in trouble. She was genuinely shocked!" he said.

Jost and Johansson, who married in 2020 and share a 3-year-old son, Cosmo, have made it clear that humor is a cornerstone of their relationship.

As for the now-famous engagement ring? It's safely back where it belongs. But if there's one lesson from this saga, it's this: before you go dumpster diving, check your pockets.
