Like a fern, Kate Hudson's love for Danny Fujikawa requires space to flourish. Because of this, even though the singer and the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star have been engaged for three years, they are not in a rush to get married. According to her, "I like the concept of freedom."

During the March 3 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Kate stated, "I like the idea of being engaged forever," adding that she finds the "contractual" part of marriage "tough for me."

She went on, "I was raised by Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, who never signed the contract—and they've been 'engaged' since I was 7."

In addition, Kate, who was engaged to Muse rocker Matt Bellamy from 2011 to 2014 and married to Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes from 2000 to 2007, hates having to deal with the details of a wedding.

"I just don't have the same, 'Oh, my god, I'm going to get married, and I can’t wait for the party,'" she said regarding her enthusiasm. "The reverse is true. "Well, I have to plan it, and it will be very expensive," I said.

The 45-year-old went on to say, "It's just a lot."

Would 38-year-old Kate and Danny simply elope at some point? "Maybe," she said to host Drew Barrymore and show correspondent Ross Mathews, adding that signing the marriage license would still be "part of the dilemma."

However, this does not imply that Kate and Danny's relationship has failed. The actress from Almost Famous actually stated that it's the exact opposite.

In an interview with Bustle on February 25, she stated, "I think that as you get older, you kind of have more fun with that." "Sex isn't supposed to be pretty," she said.

Kate, who calls herself the "biggest flirt on the planet," has a 6-year-old daughter named Rani with Danny, a 21-year-old son named Ryder with Chris, and a 13-year-old son named Bingham with Matt. She feels she's found "the right guy" in her fiancé because he gets her unusual approach to love.

"I think anybody who’s ever been with me is very aware that I flirt with everybody—girls, boys," she said. "He can handle this."
