Millie Bobby Brown, widely known for her role as Eleven in Stranger Things, recently surprised fans by revealing that her name isn't exactly what they thought. During an interview with BuzzFeed UK while promoting her upcoming film The Electric State, the 21-year-old actress disclosed that "Bobby" is not her actual middle name.

"My middle name is Bonnie," Brown stated. "It's not Bobby. It's Millie Bonnie Brown." Her Electric State co-star Chris Pratt was visibly surprised, prompting Brown to emphasize, "I've never told anyone that. You heard it here first!" She admitted that she altered her middle name for "s--ts and giggles."

While Brown did not provide further details about her choice of "Bobby," speculation suggests that it may be a tribute to her father, Robert Brown. This revelation has sparked reactions online, with one fan commenting, "Imagine being famous enough to rebrand your own name just for fun."

This isn't the only time Brown has changed her name. In May 2024, after marrying Jake Bongiovi, the son of musician Jon Bon Jovi, she officially took on his last name. She confirmed the change by sharing a picture from the Stranger Things Season 5 set, featuring a label that read "Millie Bobby Brown BONGIOVI."

Beyond the name change, Brown has recently made headlines for addressing criticism regarding her appearance. Following the Los Angeles premiere of The Electric State, some social media users criticized her new blonde look. In response, Brown took to Instagram with a strong message:

"I refuse to apologize for growing up. I refuse to make myself smaller to fit the unrealistic expectations of people who can't handle seeing a girl become a woman. I will not be shamed for how I look, how I dress, or how I present myself," she stated.
As she continues to promote The Electric State, set for release on March 14, Brown remains unapologetic about her choices, whether it's her name, her appearance, or the way she carries herself in the public eye.
