There was some chaos behind the scenes as Walton Goggins had to confront his long-standing fear of snakes during the filming of the March 2 episode of the HBO satire.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on March 5, he clarified, "I don't just have a phobia—it's like a missing link when it comes to snakes." "There seems to be a genetic issue with me in relation to snakes."
Walton's character Rick gets high and lets loose a number of snakes at a snake farm in one scene of the show, which leads to one of them biting his girlfriend Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood). The actor's main scene partner wasn't very amiable, even though he had been told which reptile was toxic before the filming began.
The 53-year-old went on, "He didn't want to come as I was pulling the snake out." The snake then turned around and bit me. I haven't shared that tale with anyone.
Filming proceeded according to schedule, and the wound was promptly treated on set, but the story didn't stop there.
“Hey, you know what, we’ve been thinking about it and I don’t know, we’re thinking maybe you should go to the hospital,” Walton recalled when the producer called. "For what?" I asked. I believe you stated that the snake was not poisonous. Is my death a slow one?
Fortunately, the Fallout was given a shot for safety, and the experience didn't detract from his previously "extraordinary" experience creating the show.
After filming was finished, he told E! News in November that "it really is, at this point, a small group of actors that have had that opportunity to have that experience." "I believe it's a feather in our cap for all of us who underwent this current incarnation."
