Model Olivia Culpo and NFL star Christian McCaffrey have announced they're expecting their first child together. The 32-year-old former Miss Universe shared the joyous news via Instagram on March 10, posting a series of striking black-and-white maternity photos with the caption: "Next chapter, motherhood 🤍."
In a separate post, Culpo shared intimate behind-the-scenes moments of the couple celebrating their milestone. The video features the pair walking hand-in-hand through a field, with Culpo cradling her baby bump in a flowing white dress. Another touching clip shows McCaffrey, 28, proudly displaying sonogram images of their unborn child.
The pregnancy announcement comes less than a year after their Rhode Island wedding in June 2024. The couple's journey to parenthood has been intentional and eagerly anticipated. During a TikTok video in October 2023, Culpo expressed her desire to "rip out" her IUD and "start trying immediately" after their wedding day.
"I am going to freeze my eggs so that I can have babies when the time is right for Christian and I. It's an insurance policy. It's exciting," Culpo revealed during the December 2022 finale of "The Culpo Sisters." She candidly addressed fertility pressures, stating: "There's a lot of pressure that I've been putting on my relationship because of fertility."
The couple's relationship began in June 2019 when they were set up on a blind date. They went public with their romance on Valentine's Day 2020. Culpo has often spoken about how McCaffrey fulfilled qualities she had specifically manifested in a partner.
"For a while I thought I was going to be a bachelorette, but pray for your future husband. That's what worked for me," she shared. "I said, 'God, please show me a better way.' I wrote down so many specific things... and I [wrote] I wanted somebody that was really close with their mom, and like, he's so close with his mom."
Speaking to Vogue about their marriage, Culpo described it as "a covenant" and "the beginning of the rest of your life — and it's the union and bond of two people forever." This commitment was reflected in her choice of a custom Dolce & Gabbana wedding gown that felt "as serious as that commitment."
According to Culpo's sisters, Sophia and Aurora, the model has already begun adapting her lifestyle in preparation for motherhood. Aurora noted that Culpo's decorating preferences have shifted: "Already, I can see that her house is no longer all white and beige. I'm like, 'You're realizing this might not work for your future.'"
"I know she's going to be a really loving mother. I know that she's going to be very prepared," Aurora added, joking that her sister is "probably already picking out her children's preschool. At the moment she's probably already on the waitlist."
