Gigi Hadid has opened up about her current relationship with ex-boyfriend Zayn Malik and how they navigate co-parenting their 4-year-old daughter, Khai, nearly four years after their final breakup. Despite their past, the two remain committed to raising their daughter together while maintaining mutual respect and understanding.

"Zayn and I do our custody schedules months in advance," Hadid shared in an interview with Vogue published on March 11. "That doesn't mean that it doesn't change here and there, but we help each other out and have each other's backs."

The model, who is now dating Bradley Cooper, emphasized that their focus remains on creating a positive environment for Khai. "There is love, and a feeling of camaraderie," she said, reflecting on how their relationship has evolved since their split in 2021.

Hadid acknowledged the intense public scrutiny that has followed their relationship. "There is the hard part of the world knowing this much, and thinking they know everything," she stated. "And at the end of the day, we're not interested in giving everyone our whole story. What we are interested in is raising our daughter together, with so much respect for each other, and not just as co-parents, but what we've been through together."

Malik, who rarely speaks about his private life, previously revealed that moving to Pennsylvania provided a peaceful environment for Khai's upbringing. "When I found out that my partner at the time was pregnant, I pretty quickly made up my mind that this would be a great place to raise a child because there's so much for her to do here," he told L'Officiel in March 2023.

He also shared how their time together is filled with outdoor activities. "We do the gardening. She likes to camp with me. We cook outside. We fish a little bit. And she's really into it, too, so it makes it fun. Hopefully, we can create some amazing memories here."
Hadid expressed that motherhood has been a transformative journey for her. "For a lot of moms, there's this perfect image of what they're supposed to be and how it needs to go," she said. "But she and Khai grow together. You wake up and do your best and you realize it is enough, and there's a beauty in not necessarily knowing exactly how that's going to go."

She also reflected on the lessons she has learned from being a mother. "You can't always be in control. You can't always plan," Hadid noted. "Step by step, I learned. I got through it."
