Not all of Barack Obama's characteristics are particularly endearing to Michelle Obama. She really mentioned one of her annoyances with the past president.

"I got this husband who's like, when it's time to leave, it's three o'clock, he's getting up and going to the bathroom!" In the first episode of their IMO podcast, which aired on March 11, the former first lady told brother Craig Robinson. "And I thought, 'Dude, dude, you've done all that,' you know? Three o'clock departure. "You know, don't start searching for your glasses at three o'clock."

Craig's first response, referring to his brother-in-law's Hawaiian upbringing, was, "He was on that island time."

The author of A Promised Land's punctuality has "improved over 30 years of marriage," according to Michelle, but he had to "adjust to what 'on time' was" for her.

Growing up, she and her brother agreed that "on time was late," and she has attempted to inculcate that belief in both herself and the daughters of the 44th president, Sasha, 23, and Malia, 26.

"They're early if they're doing anything with me," she added.

Michelle has consistently expressed her gratitude for their marriage, nevertheless, regardless of any shortcomings.

The Becoming author stated, "I wouldn't trade in my marriage for anything in the world," during a 2018 Jay Shetty's On Purpose podcast episode. "With all the highs and lows, with all the presidential campaigning...Let's talk about how enormous and gaping that is in our life. However, the benefits have surpassed it. And we would have missed all the positive things if we hadn't persisted."

Years later, the pair continues to express their love for one another. Obama sent Michelle a heartfelt greeting on her 61st birthday in January.

He posted a picture of the couple holding hands across a dining table on Instagram on January 17 along with the caption, "Happy birthday to the love of my life." "You look good while radiating love, knowledge, humor, and grace into every space. Being able to go on life's adventures with you is such a blessing. I cherish you!
