Arsenal star Kai Havertz and his wife, Sophia, have announced the birth of their first child. The couple's happy news comes after they tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in July 2024, shortly after Havertz experienced heartbreak with Germany at the Euros.
According to the Sun, Havertz and Sophia began dating in 2018 when the German international was playing for Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen. The report adds that Sophia Weber is from Germany and is a model and social media influencer.
She has been spotted in the stadium many times supporting the forward. It also adds that the two grew up in the same neighbourhood in Germany and their relationship blossomed into a romantic one in 2018. Havertz's former teammate Mason Mount, and Bukayo Saka's girlfriend Tolami Benson congratulated him on the wedding. Ben White’s wife Milly White also commented on their wedding post. The couple shared the news of the birth of their child on Instagram.
Sophia Havertz received abuse in January after Havertz and Arsenal lost to Manchester United in the FA Cup.
Kai Havertz had a phenomenal first season with Arsenal but they fell short in the Premier League title race.
Sophia watched Havertz win the 2020 UEFA Champions League with Chelsea.
The German international made his name at Bayer Leverkusen before Chelsea bought him in 2020. He played three seasons with the Blues but failed to reach his potential. In his first season, he registered nine goals and six assists in 45 appearances, per Transfermarkt. In his second season, he improved to 14 goals and five assists in 47 appearances in his second campaign (2022/23). However, in his final season at Stamford Bridge, he scored nine and was sold to Arsenal for 75 million euros. So far at Arsenal, he has 29 goals and 12 assists in 85 appearances. Havertz is out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury he sustained in February during a warm-weather training in Dubai.
