A terrifying health journey is being revealed by Remi Bader. The TikToker, who became well-known in 2020 for her shopping and body-positive posts, revealed that she had surgery in December 2023 to help her recover from a binge eating disorder. She also acknowledged why the procedure felt necessary while describing the "brutal" recovery process.
On the March 26 episode of Khloe in Wonder Land, Remi told Khloe Kardashian, "I was in bed for like a month; if I even turned a little, I would like scream in pain." "At the age of 28, my doctor informed me that I was becoming infertile due to my frequent periods. I was constantly seeing a doctor, so I could see how things were getting worse in terms of my heart and my cholesterol. They were telling me I was morbidly obese.”
And the 30-year-old claimed to have "tried everything" before deciding to proceed with the weight loss surgery.
She added, "I also really struggled with binge eating for years." I participated in a rigorous six-week binge-eating program. I attended meetings of Overeaters Anonymous just prior to that. I made every effort. I was in a desperate situation.
Remi also tried Ozempic and other semaglutides several times, but as she previously disclosed, they didn't work for her. She ultimately chose the single anastomosis duodenal-ileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy (SADI-S), a more recent bariatric procedure.
The recuperation, however, turned out to be "the worst thing" in Remi's life. She experienced depression, hair loss, and projectile vomiting as a result of the surgery, which was far more severe than the doctors had anticipated.
In a March 26 profile, Remi told Self, "I'd gotten into a very, very deep depression, and it was truly the scariest time of my life." She also said that concealing her procedure made it worse for her. I was unable to inform others. I wanted to die, really.
However, the influencer would not alter her choice, stating that she now has "more energy than ever" and that her health has significantly improved.
She continued to Self, "I will never regret taking the time to heal, and I’m still healing and figuring it out.”
