Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino have reportedly postponed their wedding as they navigate a rough patch in their relationship. A source close to the couple revealed to Us Weekly that while they remain together, they are facing "major issues" that have put their plans on hold.
The couple, who have been dating since 2018 and got engaged in 2022, had been set to tie the knot this spring. However, Sweeney, 27, allegedly struggled with the stress of wedding planning, leading to the decision to halt all preparations. "Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn't handle the stress," the insider shared.
Sweeney's thriving career appears to be a significant factor in the couple's tension. The Euphoria star has been juggling multiple projects, including her latest film, The Housemaid. Her demanding schedule has reportedly led to strain, with Davino, 41, wishing they could spend more time together. "Sydney is really focused on her career. Jonathan wishes they were able to spend more quality time together," the source explained.
Adding to the speculation, Sweeney recently deleted a New Year's Eve photo featuring Davino from her Instagram. The picture, which showed the couple in an intimate moment, was seen as a public affirmation of their engagement. Its sudden removal only fueled rumors that their relationship was in jeopardy.
Further reports suggest that Sweeney has been living apart from Davino for nearly a month, opting to stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel instead of their shared home. While neither has publicly addressed the situation, their absence from public outings together since January has only intensified speculation.
A source told DailyMail.com that the couple is "reassessing whether they ought to remain together at all." Though they have not officially split, they are taking time to evaluate their future. "Things are also always tense between them when she is promoting a movie because she has to give her full attention to the project, and people always speculate about her relationship and closeness with co-stars," the insider added.
Despite the ongoing rumors, Davino was recently spotted at Sweeney's Los Angeles home, indicating that the two are still in contact. However, no further wedding discussions are reportedly taking place at this time.
